Found on the east coast of Tahiti, a few minutes away from Mahina, is the Vaipu valley of Faarumai, full of banana plantations and coconut palm trees. Visitors coming here will start their journey by walking down a tree-canopied path, then through a bamboo grove and over a bridge, to reach the first breath-taking waterfall, Vaimahuta, which is a huge 296 feet high. After having a swim or bite to eat, visitors can then trek deeper into the valley to come across the other two waterfalls, Haamarere Iti and Haamarere Rahi, both of which are as stunning as the first and well worth the hike.
