The capital of Tahiti is a very busy area, Papeete has a lively waterfront, where visitors are planning trips or waiting for their transport to arrive, to take them to one of the interesting islands found in Tahiti. Papeete is a commercial booming success, providing great bars, cafés and restaurants and a service second to none, when it comes to food and drink. Past the waterfront though, are attractions including the vibrant Marché du Papeete market, beautifully designed churches and a pearl museum, where a 28mm diameter pearl is kept. Any visitors wanting to take in panoramic views of the area will need to head on up to the belvédère lookout, an area located on Mount Marau.
