The most popular and easiest of Bangkok’s floating markets to get to is Damern Saduak. The traditional trading centre has remained unspoilt by modern influences and makes for an exciting and intriguing excursion. Hundreds of small wooden boats cram together paddled by vedours in huge straw hats who sell anything from locally produced fresh fruit and vegetables to hot noodles and cold beer, hats and scarves to spices and souvenirs.
