The world famous Malt Whisky Trail lies in one of the most spectacular valleys in Scotland. Measuring approximately 70 miles long (110km) among the northern foothills of the Grampians by the River Spey, the eight famous malt whisky distilleries in and around the Spey Valley invite the visitor to tour the grounds and find out about the process. A guide will take avid whisky chasers around the distilleries, spending around an hour in each one viewing the secrets of Scottish whisky production. And, there is plenty of opportunity to sample a few ‘wee drams’, so you may not remember the last couple of distilleries! To soak up some of that whisky no-one should visit Scotland without a taste of some famous Scottish haggis. Sheep's stomach bag filled with liver, heart, mutton, onions and oatmeal may not sound too appetising, but it’s an essential part of a great visit to Scotland.
