Las Vegas - The Strip

Las Vegas sightseeing, attractions and online travel guide

Las Vegas Boulevard or The Strip was born and the City would never be the same. The advent of the themed hotel/casino in the late sixties led to a somewhat surreal competition between investors in Nevada’s prime real estate. Treasure Island has a full on sea battle; Merlin battles a Dragon at Excalibur; a live Volcano erupts in front of the Mirage; New York New York’s hotel buildings are 48 storey replicas of famous Manhattan skyscrapers with a rollercoaster that twists amongst them. Paris Las Vegas has it’s own half size Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Are you getting the picture?
