Sun Studios is the place where Sam Philips created his Rockabilly dynasty with Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis. A tour of the studio consists of two parts; First of all there is a thirty-minute tour of the facility itself, during which the history of this legendary place is explained with the help of pictures, music and memorabilia. The second part is a self-guided tour of the gallery, which contains photos and artwork from the halcyon days of the burgeoning rock n roll era. Of course there is also a gift shop where you can pick up souvenirs including records and CDs.
