Stretching over 4600 feet with suspended towers reaching 746 feet, the Golden Gate Bridge is heralded with such labels as ‘one of the top ten construction achievements of the 20th century’ and ‘one of the seven modern wanders of the world’. An obvious highlight and impossible to miss, the Golden Gate Bridge is San Francisco’s most recognizable landmark. Cross it on foot or by bicycle and you won’t have to pay a penny. Not a bad deal when on a clear day the views of the Bay and Marin Headlands are nothing short of breathtaking.
