Venezuela - Hiking

Venezuela sightseeing, attractions and online travel guide

Visitors entering the National Park of El Ávila will be faced with the breathtaking mountain range of Caracas, which rises 3,300 feet, and is a popular place for hikers. Anyone new to the activity though, can spend a day hiking to the scenic Ávila mountain range, which has an ascent of 1,000 meters, taking only a few hours of walking. The more experienced trekkers can take a two-day journey to Pico Naiguatá, the highest peak in Venezuela, being 2,765 meters above sea level. The park also provides a cable car to view the area and a horse-riding centre at the nearby area of San José de Galipá.
