Auberge du Balestié is perfectly placed in the middle of the Cathare Country 4 kilometers from the medieval town of Mirepoix, just 35 kilometers from Carca onne. This quiet, little hotel is owned and run near an English family who warmly welcome you to this quiet corner of Ariège. Come and unwind near Balestié Lake and admiring the splendid view of the Pyrenees or taking advantage of the many outdoor things to do offered nearbynear. The GR7 walking trail pa es right alongside the Auberge du Balestie; there is as well a variant of the Way of Saint James that leads to St Jean-de-Pied de Port. There are several other walking, mountain biking and horse riding trails around the hotel. In the hotel restaurant we offer a plat du jour (dish of the day) for 8 € and an a la carte menu of traditional, regional cuisine with prices ranging from €13 to €28. Vegetarian and child menus are offered on request.
