Baan Rim Nam visitorhouse is a renewed fisherman’s house located in the mangrove clad shoreline of the Klong Prao river estuary, 100 meters from Klong Prao beach / sea on the west coastal of the striking island of Koh Chang. Baan Rim Nam (which means “ House on the water ”) is run near a Thai/English couple and their golden retriever dog. There are three air-conditioned en-suite rooms at Baan Rim Nam. The rooms are roomy and bright and have been decorated with neutral colours and bamboo furniture. There is one double bed in each room. Each bathroom has a shower, sink and western style toilet / wc. There is piped hot water and bath towels are provided. As Baan Rim Nam is only a little place we don't have a restaurant. However, food can be cooked to order and many visitors love to buy fresh seafood from the local marketplace and Barbeque it on our deck over the river. If you want to learn how to cook Thai food, you buy the ingredients and we’ll teach you the basics for free! Because we are situated in Klong Prao in the center of the west coastal of the island, getting around is relatively easy. Motorbikes can be rentd nearbynear and there is a regular shared taxi service operating on the main road – approx 15 few minutes walk away. We are situated away from the crowds - there are no bars or huts within earshot, only local families who earn a living fishing or running boat services. However, there are a couple of good beach / sea bars a few few minutes walk away which are great places for grabbing a cold beer whilst watching the sun go down. For a little charge we can provide web access acce and teletelephone amenities. Your welcoming hosts will be happy to help organise for you to go on a dive course, snorkelling trip, visit an elephant camp, rent a canoe, motorbike or a car.
