The hostel is part of a Georgian town house ideally located inside the Elizabethan town Walls. Berwick is the ideal position for the budget traveller. Leave the town behind because there's loads to do around Berwick on Tweed and North Northumberland. Take a walk around the Elizabethan town walls and admire the views south to the holy Island of Lindisfarne and beyond to the Farne Islands. Take a trip down to Bamburgh Castle, check out the wild cattle at Chillingham castle then carry on a little futher South and visit the Duke of Northumberland at Alnwick Castle. Once you've had enough of castles you could head for the Cheviot hills, brilliant walking country on the Northern reaches of the Pennines. If that all sounds to much like hard work there's plenty of easy costal and river walks close near the hostel.
