The Chalupa Loreta cottage is situated in the Horehronie (Upper Hron) region in the village of Zavadka nad Hronom. The village is 22km (14 miles) from Brezno in a valley between the Low Tatra Mountains on the north and Slovenske Rudohorie on the south. The River Hron flows through the Upper Hron valley from its source below Kralova Hola and eastwards in a strikingly meandering arc. The region offers many opportunities for road and mountain biking in the summer and downhill or cro -country skiing, mountain-tour-skiing in the winter. Next to our village you can find a lovely pond with transpahire water ideal for fishing and swimming in the summertime. Other things to do which you may want to pursue in the vicinity include viewing the historical remains and traditional folk architecture of the Upper Hron region, the original collection of bells in umiaci, the remains of Muransky castle, bat cave in Dumbiersky or the museum in Brezno. For outdoor entertainment you may want to try paragliding, ice skating, mountain climbing, swimming in covered swimming pool or taking in Upper Hron's annual festival of folk music held in a natural amphitheatre every June. Our cottage has 2 rooms with a total of 8 beds (4 beds, 3+1 beds). IMPORTANT! Minimum reservation in period July-August and January-February is 3 people for at least 6 nights.
