Dear travelers ... For a true taste of Tuscany and the 'bella vita' in an authentic XIVth century setting, visit us at the Ba etto visitorhouse. We are situated in Certaldo, in the belly button of Tuscany in a striking region of vineyards, olive groves and medieval towns. Our family home was formerly a convent of Benedictine monks that was constantly open to pilgrims pa ing through. Most newly it was a working farm producing local wine and oil. In 1998 we opened Fattoria del Ba etto again to travelers with the same notion of warmth as the monks centuries ago and with ideas based on what we saw in visitorhouses overseas during our own travels. We wanted our visitorhouse to be individual in terms of setting and position, a place you would want to return to at night and somewhere to unwind from town tours. Meander through landscapes sculpted near sunflowers, rolling hills and farms on foot, bike or mini-van. Or day trip near public transport to see the splendours of Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano and other towns which are le than an hour away. You can try your hand in the shared kitchen with Tuscan recipes from our cooking cla es, sample local wines in our cantina (wine cellar), or do little more than put your feet up near the swimming pool and enjoy the views and Tuscan life.
