The county of Wicklow, just south of Dublin, has great selection of scenery within its boarders. It is known as the 'grounds of Ireland'. In the east of the coastalal vicinity is low and sandy, except in a few places where it crops out in headlands; two of the country's main resorts, Arklow and Bray are along this coastal. Central Wicklow is a ma of domed granite mountains, penetrated near deep glens and wooded valleys; it contains some of the finest scenery in Ireland. To the west, the mountains give way to gentler country on the edge of the central plain. In Wicklow it is po ible to forget about the hustle & bustle of everyday life and just unwind. The county is rich in history and culture, with five heritage groundss and many arch ological and historical remains. Wicklow County is famous for her mountains and beach / seaes as well as the walking & cycling po ibilities that she offers. This newly renewed Youth Hostel is set in a deeply wooded glacial valley in a National park. Glendalough was once the home of a 6th Century monastic settlement of saints and scholars.This vicinity is a must for history, geography and natural world enthusiasts. It's a great vicinity for fishing, rock climbing, pony trekking, walking forest trails and Wicklow Way.
