HI - Portland - Northwest HOSTEL Portland Description
This is Portland's most centrally situated hostel. From our position you can walk to the town center, the Amtrak/Greyhound station, Washington Park (Oregon Zoo), museums, downtown, Chinatown and more. We are situated in the middle of Portland's popular Northwest Nob Hill neighbourhood. Cafés, shops, brew pubs, theatres, galleries, and nightlife create a happening and historic district. Just one block away is the Mi ion Brew Pub theatre ($2-3 films). And a short walk to Forest Park, the country's largest natural park. The hostel is housed in a restored turn-of-the-century historic building and has an on-site coffee bar. It is clean and cosy and just 3 blocks to Portland's farele zone: all buses, trams, and street cars are free. The hostel features a free telephone for local Calls, free wirele web access for laptops, free on street parking, and free pastries, bread and bagels. Helpful and welcoming staff offer great info on things to see and do, and we provide free maps. Our info boards are updated every week. Van tours can be booked to Mt. St. Helens Volcano, Columbia River Gorge, Cascade Mountains, the Oregon coastal, and hot springs. Or ask for our self-guided itineraries. During the summer months there are free weekly summer music concerts in neighbouring parks. Ask about our personal rooms in our International visitorhouse just 4 blocks from the hostel. Notes on rates: rates quoted on this website are H.I. member rates. Non-members may join on arrival or pay $3 extra per night, per person. Lodging tax of 12.5% will be added to all overnight fees on arrival.
