Hostel Houdoe HOSTEL Alem Description
Come as a stranger, leave as a friend! This characteristic 1922 farmhouse is only an hour southwards from Amsterdam near rail. But it's a totally individual surroundings! This is the real Holland, where farmers still wear their clogs, and nobody smokes marijhuana, although you can of course do it on our closed premises. In the middle of this striking rural Dutch countryside, you are more than welcomed near our welcoming Dutch staff and owner Theo LeerinTelevisioneld. This well travelled tour-guide has worked as a guide all around the world, as you can see near his souvenirs, which are scattered all over the house. This house is situated in the middle of nowhere, in the little Dutch town of Alem, with only 430 inhabitants, 709 sheep and 1200 cows and 2378 pigs. There is only one shop, where you can buy your groceries for breakfast, lunch and super. Or join in at night for home-cooked Dutch food, which is made every day with lots of love and healthy and fresh ingredients. The hostel has four pleasantly decorated little rooms: one single, one double, one triple and a basement with three beds. Bathroom (with bath) and toilet / wc is shared! Around the house there are plenty of spaces to chill out or unwind. Every night there is a little campfire, weather permitted of course. We provide one hour free web access acce daily for each person, and there are five free offered bikes. The striking grounds has to be shared with Knabbel and Babbel (rabbits) and Roosje, our lovely duck. In addition to this Baboeshka and Luna (cats) like to be given plenty of attention!
