The beach / sea HOTEL JAGUAR sets the standard for Cahuita. Our rooms which are situated in several buildings, well-spaced on informal grounds, are extraordinarily large with high ceilings, clerestory windows, white stuccoed walls, red tile floors, wooden louvers, and generous wooden trim. Covered pa ageways have squares of grounds. A number of the design features effectively aid pa ive cooling without air conditioning. There are trails through the property, 17 acres with fruit trees and exuberant and unruly vegetation. Treks to the Talamanca mountains, the Indian booking; river fishing and boating sightseeing tours can be organised. Cuisine is fantastic. The owners, a Canadian and a Tica, have extensive hotel experience. Hotel Jaguar has 45 rooms. Some rooms can be combined together forming suites. Most rooms are 500 square feet, which includes personal bath and covered terrace. All beds are queen size and have firm mattre es. The rooms have the special pa ive cooling design with extra large windows, cro ventilation, high ceilings, thermo syphoning roof vents, wooden shutters and thermal isolation. All rooms are fully screened. Hostel rooms are offered for groups. And there is lots of parking space, with guard at night time. Please note that if you book the standard or superior room, they have 2 Queen Sized beds,which are suitable as well for four visitors at the same price.
