Hotel Tindastoll is the oldest hotel in Iceland, dating back to 1884. The building came in parts from Norway and was a embled as a storehouse in Hofsos between 1820 and 1829, moving later on to Grafarós in 1833 and finally shipped over the fjord and rea embled at its present position in Sau rkrókur. The hotel has a capatown of ten rooms - seven double standard, one twin and two twin luxury, all featuring double beds with Norwegian linen, duvet covers, wardrobes, mini-bars, Tudor style desks, coffee makers, hair dryers, Television set, trousers pre and personal bathrooms. Her room today is called Gu ri ur Þorbjarnadott r Our lounge called Jarlstofa (The Earls Chamber) is situated at the lower level. The walls are made of stones formed near the sea and the ceiling is supported near hard hewn wooden beams. Jarlstofa still preserves the hotel's original front door, the old fire place and numerous artefacts illustrating the history of the building. Today Jarl tofa is a multi-purpose vicinity which can as well be used for meetings and little banquets.
