welcoming! relaxing! handy! The International Student centre will be your home away from home in Manhattan, New York town. The welcoming youth hostel is situated in a striking and safe residential neighbourhood close to Central Park. located on the Upper Westside, the youth hostel is easily acce ible near subway and buses. The youth hostel offers 50 beds in dorm style accommodations, both single sex and co-ed rooms. Being that we are a 'youth hostel', we only allow visitors who are between the ages of 18 and 30. The hostel is situated in a historical brownstone building and is simple, clean and relaxing. There is as well a simple, but delightful grounds which blo oms in the backyard all year round. Other amenities include common lounge with Television and public telephones. Please note that check-in time is between 9am and 7pm. If the visitor will be late on their arrival date, we would appreciate a notice, via telephone call or e-mail, at least 24 hours before your arrival as to what the new arrival time will be. However, please note that bookings are not guranteed for arrivals after 9pm! visitors need to be between 18 and 30 years old, and need to have a valid ID (pa port or US driver's license)to check-in. Starting July 1, 2005, the price of each bed will be $30 per night. The International Student centre is a ‘not for profit’ educational organization which has been committed to serving young people since 1953! visitor amenities Include . . . Sacred grounds: A simple but delightful grounds blo oms in our backyard all year round, with special attention during Spring, Summer and Autumn. We even offer free herbs for visitors to harvest during the summer months. Full kitchen and common lounge with Television/VCR, and public telephones. No curfew. However, visitors need to obtain a key ($10 deposit) for the front door to enter the building at night. The front desk office is open daily, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, from 9am to 7pm. welcoming, international staff Safe and secure storage vicinity, locked overnight. Large luggage is not allowed upstairs in the rooms, but you can bring little bags up with you, while your bags are kept safe in the storage vicinity, constantly attended to while the vicinity is open, and again locked overnight. web access and po ibilities to use the computer We provide free sheets for your bed *** Check-in must be before 7pm NY time. If you think you will arrive after 7pm you must contact reception (24 hours in advance) to let us know of a later arrival, but definitely before 9pm. If we do not hear from you (via email or telephone), we will not guarantee your booking after 7pm! Payment upon arrival can be made either near cash, or travellers checks only. We do not accept credit cards, but there are ATM machines within walking distance from the hostel. Duration of stay: Summer & Autumn: June to October - One week maximum stay during the entire summer. Additional bookings, over and above a maximum of seven days, from June to August, will be cancelled. Winter & Spring: November to May: Two week maximum stay. Please note that visitors can only stay once (for the maximum stay allowed) in any one-month period. Additional bookings made within the 30-day period will be cancelled. There must be a gap of at least 30 days between each booking for the same person(s).
