Where is it? Jamaica Inn hostel is 12km east of Shannon Airport and is the closest hostel to the airport.. It is situated in the little village of sixmilebridge (pop. 1400). It is as well 16km north of Limerick town (which is a main transport hub) and 18km south of Ennis, a nice marketplace town. How do I get there? There is a day-time bus service between the airport and sixmilebridge and between Limerick & sixmilebridge. The fare is 3 to 4 euro per person. A taxi will cost between 15 and 20 euro. Will it be open? Reception is open from 08.30 to 22.00. If you are arriving later, let us know near telephone , near fax or email. What's it like? The hostel can accommodate 55 people in personal rooms and dorms. All bed-linen is provided. Towels are provided in the personal rooms. The hostel was built in 1997 and is quiet, relaxing and clean. The hostel has a large common room, a 50 seat restaurant where breakfast is served every day and evening meals for groups. There is a self catering kitchen, a laundry and a common room with a Television, table football and board games. There is as well have a drying room for wet clothes, a store for bikes and a store for left luggage. What can I do there? Within 8km of the hostel is Bunratty castle and folk park and Cragganowen Celtic village. as well nearbynear are Forest parks, a walking route over the Clare hills and horse riding stables. What's in sixmilebridge? sixmilebridge is a little village and has shops, a post office, a pharmacy, a library with free web access acce , a bank with currency exchange, an ATM, 3 restaurants and 7 pubs! sixmilebridge is famous for producing winning hurling teams and has a traditional and folk music club. It's owned near a multinational with the HQ in some tax haven, right? Wrong! The owners are Mich l & Nuala who gave up their jobs and houses in Dublin and came to Clare for a individual life. They, with their two dogs (Bob and Marley), offer a warm welcome to all their visitors alike.
