Legends Backpacker Lodge HOSTEL Mbabane Description
In the Ezulwini 'Valley of Heaven', 15min from Mbabane or Manzini. Within walking distance of two wildlife reserves, Swazi Queen Mother's Royal Residence, the Swazi Cultural Village plus the legendary Cuddle Puddle Hot Springs. Legends is known as the Kingdom's 'its within walking distance' hostel and is definitely the best situated for a wide range of things to do. On this note, Legends is a place for active-minded travelers. The hostel's patron saint is Leni the Legend, an ancestral spirit who is THE SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE. Legends is staffed solely near young Swazi locals who help out with tips on local bus and taxi rides, craft marketplace best deals, shopping for provisions and evening sightseeing tours. Despite being only 500m from a large shopping center, the lodge is in a quiet position right at the base of a mountain (Sheba's Breasts) with trees and natural vicinitys all around. The National Museum, the National Stadium (soccer matches galore), King Sobhuza II Memorial Park and Mantenga waterfall are all close near too (YES - walking distance!) There are 15 individual restaurants all within 4km - so plan to do some real feasting. The lodge has roomy dorms, personal twin and double rooms, camping, a fully self-catering kitchen and braai amenities. Legends as well offers web access acce , Television, paytelephone, a bar and cheap meals. Most popular things to do are: white-water rafting (best rapids south of the Zambesi!), Adventure Caving (ma ive Gobholo Caves - still 95% undiscoverd), hilking and walking up Sheba's Breasts, and hiring a mountain bike to cruise around and observe local village life.
