The tranquil setting is the ideal pristine bliss to take time out from a busy schedule or return to at the end of a busy day where one can enjoy the native birds while unwinding in the outdoor courtyard vicinity. With your host Cheryl’s, welcoming and flexible approach to all our visitors, a selection of needs can be met. highlights close near include The Buried village,The Blue Lake and Lake Tarawera. Lake Okareka is nestled amongst many striking lakes that are suitable for kayaking or trout fishing, and trips with local guides can be organised. Boat trips can be combined with trout fishing and a unwinding soak in one of the many natural hot pools /streams on the lakes. Mountain Bikes (FREE for 2 or more nights stay)to discover the many tracks/lakes.Kayaks are offered for rent on site. Take advantage of the many lake and bush walks to suit all abilities or mountain biking on any of the world cla tracks. Lyons Lakestay is the perfect base for exploring the Volcanic /Thermal vicinitys, and cultural experiences that Rotorua, Tarawera and the Central Plateau has to offer. The Bay of Plenty coastal beach / seaes are within a 1 hour drive.The ideal place to base yourselves while holidaying in the North island as highlights in Waikato,Waitomo,Coromandel,Cen tral Plateau(skifields)&Bay of Plenty coastal are reachable 1-2 hrs drive.2.5 -3 hrs from Auckland. hireal cars can be organised locally once you arrive or let us know and we will book it for you. The lakestay is set up to be self catering, but if you require a breakfast to enjoy at your own leisure, a ‘Kiwi-style’ lunch or super pack you need only to let her know as they are made of fresh, New Zealand Products at an extra charge. Lake views from the Kitchen/Dining ,outdoor courtyard vicinity ,Bunkroom and Red Room. The Green Room(dbl)as well has a single bed ,so is suitable if 2 beds are required or for an extra person or child in the sgl.It is as well suitable as a double for longer stays as has more room for luggage. Pick ups are offered from Tourism Rotorua(info center&Bus stop)or the Airport Please let me know arrival times.
