The legends nearby Uther Pendragon, King Arthur of the Britons, his magical sidekick Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table have their home in many places on the outskirts of the town, with the ruins of Tintagel Castle just further along up the shoreline. Picturesque and busy fishing villages litter the coastal whilst inland the remote expanse of Bodmin Moor provides an interesting contrast of scenery. The much celebrated, ecological ‘Eden Project’ is as well just a short journey away via the shuttle bus service which is provided.
