Accommodation Description: Bisgeos 12 Bed Bunkhouse/Hostel was rewarded with the 5 star emblem near the tourist board in 2003 - only shared near 3 other hostels in Scotland. The hostel gets its individual ambience from the use of rustic traditional building materials - wooden and flagstone floors, solid timber bunks, walls cludded with bark cuttings and careful interior decorations in a nautical theme with nets, ropes and sails. up to date features as underfloor heating, dimming lights, powershowers and up to date kitchen add comfort to the hostels other features - good vibes and breathtaking views. The roomy kitchen has an extendable dining table in a cosy corner seating up to 12 people, perfect for a group reservation with your friends, 2 electric hobs / ovens, 2 Refrigerators, microvawe, toaster, mixer etc are offered to provide a rich meal from Westray's fresh ingredients ( famous steaks and fresh seafoods). We as well supply a washing machine and dryer in this part of the hostel. The bunks are made from solid timber to fit a single bed matre , which is wider than the usual bunk size. each bunk has its own light, socket and bedside shelf. The highlight of the hostel is its conservatory. Nets, sails, ropes and nautical maps gives the special ambience blending in with the panoramic view over a large bay with three Orkney isles silouetted on the horizon. Sea, land and sky are on stage from this point above the western cliffs. we take middle from the comments left in our visitor book, such as: "After nearbyly 25years of independent travel.....this is as good as it gets!"
