Accommodation Description: P stum is a little village on the coastal of South Italy, Campania region. It is exactly positioned in a suggestive and evergreen plain that runs for about 35 Kms from North to South, just between Amalfi coastal on North and Cilento coastal on South. Its white sandy beach / sea litoral, with clear sea water, it is about 12 kms, towards Mediterranean sea. The beach / sea, that still preserves the original splendour, is low with regular backdrop, for this reason it is particularly suitable for families with children. With other famous places of this vicinity, as Pompeii, Sorhireo, Ercolano, Vesuvius, Capri, Amalfi coastal and Naples, it constitutes irreplaceable tourist destination, impa ioned and studious coming here from every where all year long. P stum was founded upon to the end of the VII century b.C. from Greeks exiles coming from Sibari, town of today's Calabria on the Ionian Sea. Finding here more favorable conditions and a rich calcareous bench, they built first the so-called temple 'Basilica' (550 b.C.), then the temple of 'Athena' (500 b.C.) and at last the temple of Poseidone (450 b.C.). In the 273 b.C. the town of Poseidonia was conquered near the Romans and its name was changed in P stum. Visit as well the National Arch ological Museum. Accommodation Description: Our hostel is situated in an old 19th century stone farmhouse which has been inclusively renewed and stands on the hills looking over the valley of the temples at P stum. Immersed in the countryside among olive trees, mulberry trees and vineyards, in a panoramic position, there is a terrace looking over a 40 kilometre gulf of long golden beach / seaes, where the coastal of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano meets the Amalfi coastal. In the horizon one can see Capri, the most striking island in the Mediterranean, reachable in an hour from the ports of Agropoli and Salerno. The proximity of the temples at P stum, the ruins of a castle, which is linked with the history of Federic II, the sanctuary of the Madonna del Granato (11th century) and of Getsemani, the beach / seaes which were scene of the American landing during the Second World War, place the farmhouse in the center of the most relevant historical events of the last 2500 years. visitors can choose between double rooms in bed and breakfasts and mini apartments with kitchenette that can accommodate up to 5 people, all with air conditioning, Television and personal bathrooms. visitors have full use of the large swimming pool located in a unwinding grounds. Accommodation Description: The Desiderio Village Holiday Camping Site is situated on P stum’s superb seaside, 4km from an arch ological excavation vicinity. It is next to a thick pine forest stretching along the sandy beach / sea. It offers not only many relaxing bungalows provided with kitchen and bathroom, but as well caravans to hire provided with outdoor kitchen and personal washbasin. Both bungalows and caravans are fully provided with kitchenware, Refrigerator, and blankets. There are as well large vicinitys for tents or caravans, each of which is provided with personal washbasin. Services we provide include bar, restaurant (scrumptious regional cooking style), pizzeria, supermarketplace, swimming pool, little soccer field, tennis table and children’s playground. In July and August we have a personal beach / sea just 300 meters away where there are recreational things to do (we provide a shuttle service from the camping site to the beach / sea).
