P stum is a little village on the coastal of South Italy, Campania region. It is exactly positioned in a suggestive and evergreen plain that runs for about 35 Kms from North to South, just between Amalfi coastal on North and Cilento coastal on South. Its white sandy beach / sea litoral, with clear sea water, it is about 12 kms, towards Mediterranean sea. The beach / sea, that still preserves the original splendour, is low with regular backdrop, for this reason it is particularly suitable for families with children. With other famous places of this vicinity, as Pompeii, Sorhireo, Ercolano, Vesuvius, Capri, Amalfi coastal and Naples, it constitutes irreplaceable tourist destination, impa ioned and studious coming here from every where all year long. P stum was founded upon to the end of the VII century b.C. from Greeks exiles coming from Sibari, town of today's Calabria on the Ionian Sea. Finding here more favorable conditions and a rich calcareous bench, they built first the so-called temple 'Basilica' (550 b.C.), then the temple of 'Athena' (500 b.C.) and at last the temple of Poseidone (450 b.C.). In the 273 b.C. the town of Poseidonia was conquered near the Romans and its name was changed in P stum. Visit as well the National Arch ological Museum.
