Escape the madne of the backpacker hostels Our aim is to provide inexpensive, clean and relaxing accommodation for the budget conscious traveller. We guarantee you a relaxing bed at an inexpensive price! Built as a large visitorhouse in the late 1800's, we have over fifty, mainly personal rooms and offer nightly or weekly accommodation at great value. We have a amazing position just on the southern side of the town, in the middle of South Yarra which is home to the striking Botanical groundss and many trendy restaurants and bars. You can walk through the park and along the Yarra river to get into the town or you could just hop on the tram which takes about 5 few minutes. There is shopping and dining to cater for all budgets along Toorak Rd and Chapel Street. The number 8 tram runs along our street so everything is only a short ride away - St Kilda's fashionable restaurants and beach / seaes, the town, the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Albert Park - home of the Melbourne Grand Prix. All trams and rails are within walking distance. We have over fifty rooms which vary in size from little singles to large doubles with balconies (all of our dorm rooms have a terrace!) and are well equipped with a colour Television, Refrigerator, microwave, kettle, heater, wardrobe and dre ing table. None of our rooms have en-suite bathrooms but there are plenty of bathrooms situated close near in each corridor. We have a fully equipped shared kitchen and provide a help yourself continental breakfast with help yourself tea, coffee, cereals, orange juice, preserves and bread - all included in the price. You are welcome to use our kitchen and cook for yourself just as long as you are willing to clean up! There's as well a large dining room with three fast web access computers and a large video selection in the snug Television room, all open 24 hours.
