Surfside Backpackers at Coogee beach / sea is the only hostel on the beach / sea in Coogee and we think in Sydney, and a matter of only few minutes from Sydney center and the harbour. Surfside's ambience is so laid back its nearbyly horizontal but we are dedicated to providing our visitor's with a beach / sea lifestyle you just can't get in the town or it's nearby suburbs, after all you came to Australia to live on the beach / sea not in the town. We are without a doubt the most social backpackers in the vicinity with large balconies to watch the ocean, the beach / sea and the cliffs either side of our striking beach / sea. beach / sea life includes heaps of unwinding but is as well filled with things to do and Coogee beach / sea has just that. We are situated right at the start of the famous Coogee to Bondi cliff walk/run. It's frequented near locals & tourists mostly fitne freaks trying hard to stay fit. We offer quality bunkroom and personal room accommodation with an awesome array of services and amenities plus so much sports equipment that our visitors will be busy for weeks. We will even provide you with heaps of tea and coffee to keep you awake in order to inclusive your Coogee beach / sea experience. Our welcoming office staff can arrange employment for you, tours and travel (see info below on How To Stay For FREE!) from our travel desk, help in getting started in Australia such as tax file numbers, Medicare cards and bank accounts. We can as well help with agencies listings, faxing, photocopying, mobile telephones, VIP cards, Airport shuttles, public transport info, cheapest web access in town and heaps more too. Surfside Backpackers at Coogee beach / sea along with our sister hostel Indy's Backpackers at nearbynear Bondi beach / sea would like to offer 1, 2 or 3 FREE nights accommodation per reservation to any backpackers, visitors or not, if they use Surfside to book thier travel and tours in Australia and New Zealand. And now... Back to how good we are... For those sporty types we have a range of surfboards, body boards, fins, wetsuits and rash vests to suit any body and any water temperature. For those who want to learn to surf or body board we have a great relationship with local Surf Schools and can arrange several individual le ons packages for you (some packages would give you a FREE nights stay with us at Surfside, see www.surfsidebackpackers.com au and click the 'How To Stay For FREE'link). If the water does not excite you we have roller blades, fishing rods, snorkels and masks and heaps of cliff walking in the vicinity plus sports gear for soccor, rugnear, au ie rules, volleyball, tennis, baseball and basketball. Combine all of the above with heaps of sunshine, some drinks in our beach / seafront bars, some nude swimming and I think we have summed up Coogee beach / sea, it simply has to be lived as a visit is never enough. Hostel Features: The basics: We provide a fully equipped kitchen with no deposits on kitchen items, a fully equipped cinema screen, air conditioned Television room with literally hundreds of films on DVD and video to watch, a laundry service, all linen plus warm doonas provided, security for you and your backpacks plus a safe you can deposit your valuables for free, luggage storage and last but not least brand spanking new Broadband super fast web access acce . The free stuff: Body boards, fins, body surfing paddles, roller blades, snorkels and masks, fishing rods, beach / sea volleyball, soccer, rugnear, tennis, baseball and basket ball gear, tea, coffee, travel desk, Employment service, DVD and video nights and last but not least welcoming, helpful staff. little charges: A surfboard, a wetsuit or a rash vests and of course a leash from free to sevens buck per day depending on season and web access acce from $2 per hour, I thinks that it, we don’t charge for much. Entertainment: we want you to be busy and having fun all the time at minimal cost so we organise heaps for you to do (if you wish to take part that is). Mondays: Movie night with FREE popcorn. Tuesdays: pool comp or just FREE pool in the famous Coogee Bay Hotel just 30 meters away, pool comp is $2 to enter and prizes exceed $50 cash plus some goodies too. Tuesdays as well offer discount night at the local cinema multiplex. Wednesdays: Wine and cheese provided as the start to a big night out at the very popular Coogee beach / sea Palace follwed near the Coogee Bay Hotel (warning; can get me y!). Thursdays: the die hards go to the Coogee beach / sea Palace or for the hung over we have a movie night with FREE popcorn here at Surfside Backpackers. Fridays: we try and get a pub crawl togther either here in Coogee beach / sea, over to Bondi beach / sea or to nearbynear & very trendy Paddington. Saturdays: heaps of clubs in sydney town have offers on so we group up, dre up and head out. Sundays: unwind and have another movie night with FREE popcorn here at Surfside or we hit the Coogee beach / sea Palace again for cocktail night, it starts and finsihed early but woow what great drinks and great fun in the sun. Room Types: We have 18 bunkrooms of 2, 6, 8 & 12 beds plus several rooms that can be doubles, twins or triples but this can be seasonal. Prices go up a little as Christmas looms and as well go down after New Year, basically we move with the temperature! If it's the beach / sea you love, then we'll give you surf gear so you can get out in it and have a go! The snorkelling and diving in the bay is majestic plus we've got beach / sea volley ball, free BarbequeS and parties. For those moments when you're not working on your tan, Coogee is a happening little seaside village handyly situated few minutes from the CBD and all the tourist meccas like the bridge, the Opera House, the harbour and Bondi. Coogee is described as very chilled out and boasts some very cool bars, pubs, cafes and bands. So why stay in the concrete jungle, come hang on the beach / sea..... If it's work you're after we'll do our darndest to help you fill your pockets. Many local business es contact us looking for workers. Our swimming pool is called the Tasman sea, its not heated but its never that cold and it stretches all the way to the states.
