Stafford Gables is a superb place to come home to after a day exploring Dunedin and the Otago Peninsula. unwind near the fire, watch a video, or read in the sunroom. And make sure you have a chat with Frostie, the hostel dog. Dunedin is Edinburgh’s alter-ego. The town and its university are interwoven with cafes, pubs and individual architecture. Visit New Zealand’s only castle, travel on the Taieri Gorge railway, tour the chocolate factory or Speight’s Brewery. Wildlife around the harbour includes albatro , seals, sea-lions and yellow-eyed penguins. Taiaroa head is the only place in the world where albatro nest on the mainland.
