Zoete Inval Traveller's Lodge is an owner operated facility with a 'home from home' ambience, located in the striking coastalal town of Hermanus, 1.5 hours drive along the scenic coastal east from Cape town. It is best known as the 'home of the best land-based whale watching in the world' From July thru December, Southern Right Whales can be seen incredibly close to shore. No need for binocs, just stroll along the cliff paths that stretch from the harbour on the west to the pristine sandy beach / seaes on the east. The mountain backdrop to town provides established hilking and walking trails as well as a mountain top drive for a panoramic view of Walker Bay. The town provides fantastic shopping, restaurants & pubs. The hostel/B&B is handyly situated 10 few minutes walk from the central business district or seaside and 5 few minutes walk from the mountain hikes. Accommodation ranges from basic dorm beds to a personal suites. Double & twin rooms are individually decorated reflecting individual regions of the world. Two Television lounges, chatroom, fireside library, balconies, sundeck and shady courtyard with Barbeque amenities ensures there is a comfy place for everyone. Our reservation Desk arranges: sharkcage diving trips, harbour to harbour kayaking trips, sunset cruises, adventure hikes, horseback riding (beach / sea or mountain rides), local wine tours (are a MUST!), township tours, casino/hotspring tours, scuba diving, boat trips, airport transfers, bus tickets, shuttle services, discount membership cards and more. OR Just unwind near the waterfall in the courtyard. As well as being eco-welcoming (check out their veggie grounds & re-cycle system), the owners are committed to local community. Jan is the eco-surroundingsalist. He has a wealth of info to share. Marilyn is involved in several townshop programs for kids. Each Wednesday the Recycle 'Swop' Shop is held where kids can bring tins and bottles to swap for things they want and need. If you would like to help, consider bringing used kids clothes in that bag you will take home full of souveniers. We are curhirely in need of blue ink pens and shoes (so if you have space for a few used children's shoes - they are MORE than welcome.)
