Description
Massimo and Susanna, whose family has been running the Hotel Albion for over four generations, opened their country residence to friends and clients in a manner that combines their love for natural world with their experience in the warmth branch. Hence Le Boscarecce, a refined estate located in the hills of the Val d Elsa, a half-hours drive from Florence, S.Gimignano and Siena, in the cultural and artist middle of Tuscany, close to the medieval pilgrim*s roads of the Via Francigena o Romea and the birthplace of Boccaccio and Leonardo. The house consists of studios and two-room apartments, with or without kitchenette, with every convenience - external phone line, color sky TV, bathroom with a tub or shower, hairdryer, and safety-box with a striking view of the rolling Tuscan hills and the nearby green covered with plants, flowers and fruit trees. In the striking shed restored with knowledge and respect for the original forms, our gracious visitor may select a book from the little library of historical/artistical texts, take a tour of the family*s modern art collection or play a game of pool. Whether in their restaurant on the inside of the shed of the swimming swimming pool or on the large terrace that dominates the entire valley below, Susanna and Massimo invite their patrons to taste historic Tuscan recipes that have been revisited and enriched with new flavors and local herbs, thanks to the imagination and flair of Grandmother Matilde who jealously guards these exquisite secrets. During the sojourn the following things to do are organized: Courses in traditional Tuscan cooking Basket-weaving, the historic art of our countryside Visit to a ceramic workshop or to the studios of painters and sculptures and Guided visits to the close by cities. Alternative itineraries that allow an experience of the historic atmospheres, for example a trip along the via Francigena o Romea to numerous parish churches and piligrim*s hospitals. Theme itineraries such as the literary itinerary in the town of Florence, with visits to the abodes of poets and writers. During harvest time there is the very special sensation of participating in the grape harvest together with the farmers, being part of the first phases of the wine production, and ending in the traditional harvest dinner. During the month of November it is possible to pick the olives, watch them being pressed in the oil-mill and have a taste of the scrumptious new olive oil that is such an essential part of our civilization.... more >>
