Now for the History: Castle Grove was built in 1695 near the Grove family, who came here in 1656; however, the original was burnt during the siege of Londonderry in 1690. It was here as well that the famous Daniel O'Connell was introduced to the powers that be; that led to him being an elected MP at the time. Castle Grove as well had a big influence in the life of General Richard Montgomery who's fame still lives on - the American War of Independence.
