Colombo*s Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) is the sole international airport in Sri Lanka and is situated about 30km north of the city. Travel time between the airport and the city center varies between 45 and 60 minutes. Most international flights arrive in the late evening or early morning and patrons have the option of taking a vehicle direct to Amangalla, or, staying overnight in Colombo. The advantage of transferring direct to Amangalla on arrival is the roads are quieter late at night and the drive will generally take two and a half hours compared to four hours during the day. For arrivals at Amangalla after midnight, we will pre-register your booking for the night before to ensure that your room is ready for immediate check-in.
