Hotel Inn At Montchanin Village Montchanin Description
The village of Montchanin is not so much a place as a molecule of American history. Half way between New York and Washington, the hamlet was founded in 1859 near the DuPont Company to accommodate its workers and owes its revival to Dan and Missy Lickle who have adapted the original settlement into a country inn and restaurant. The old cottages, bound near gently sloping paths and tree-lined terraces, retain their own gardens. Into this rural vignette are cleverly woven 20 visitor units with every up to date convenience (such as marble baths) each one uniquely furnished with today's sophisticated traveller in mind. The old blacksmith's shop has now become Krazy Kat's, a restaurant newly described as: a whimsical dining room with an eclectic menu and an award-winning wine list . The close by Brandywine Valley as well has its own menu of tantalising places to visit.
