Nearby Orvieto, located between the most striking countryside in the Siena Province and the lushes part of Umbria La Casella, Old Country Estate, expands over 450 hectares in the last stretch of the River Chiani Valley. La Casella is a dream you can reach where time slows and well-being is found, is a place where you can feel at home and will be welcomed with warmth and kindness near all of our staff. For accommodations old farmhouses, once abandoned, have been refurbished and converted into little and cosy relais. There are 32 rooms spread over four hamlets all with personal bathrooms: *La Quercia* with 6 bedrooms, located in the centre, above the bar and the restaurant. Generally used near families with little children. At 900 meters there is *La Terrazza* with 9 bed rooms and *Le Noci* with 7 bedrooms. The last one, at 1300 meters from the main building is *San Gregorio* with 10 bedrooms: is situated on a little hill and is the most panoramic and quiet. La Casella is placed in the middle of a land full of typicality& 8217;s: the Orvieto Classico region, olive oil classified the best quality in Europe, mushrooms, the famous White Truffle of Fabro, various pork products, antique fairs where numerous artisans fashion ceramics, leather and wood. In our shop you can buy wine (from our own cellar), extra virgin olive oil, tisanes, organic honey, tisane pots (hand decorated), leather goods and jumpers. From June to September children from 3-10 years can be looked after near our babysitter, who will entertain them with games and things to do that stimulate their imagination, teaching them the secrets of the natural world within the grounds of La Casella. Every afternoon around 4pm a horse drawn carriage, pulled near the powerful Ariel, will leave following a path that runs along the riverside, opening up a world of discovery for the children.

In this old country estate you can practice horse riding and simulated fox hunting, or take a time to regenerate the body and mind at Centro Benessere a small beauty farm that uses the exclusive *eubiotico* method. There are also other activities including the swimming pool, tennis, mountain bikes, billiards and table tennis. The swimming pool is open from June - September. It measures 18 x 9 m. and is set in a field overlooking the woods. Here you can chose between relaxing on a comfortable sun bed or enjoying a refreshing swim. The tennis courts are illuminated and can also be used as a football or volleyball court. The riding centre with over 40 horses we can satisfy your every need with jumping, dressage and a ménage available. Leave your car behind and move around the complex using our mountain bikes. There are miles of paths following the Chiani River, where you can appreciate the natural environment that surrounds you. Guided excursions are also available. Open all year round the Riding Centre at La Casella offers: Basic courses for beginners with certified instructors. Accompanied rides within our land lasting 1, 2 or 3 hours. Rides leave early in the morning and return before dusk. Our catering service will provide food and refreshments so that you can enjoy a picnic at lunchtime. Outings on the now renowned *Night Ride* start in June and continue throughout the summer, these rides take place in the evening and include a candlelight dinner in the woods. This is a unique and unforgettable experience for those who have never ridden in the night. Don*t miss it! The riding centre at La Casella is also an International Centre of Simulated Fox Hunting. The hunting is all done on horseback and takes place during the autumn and winter. You will be riding in wide-open spaces, negotiating natural fences and rivers, developing riding techniques, orientation and capacity for choosing the best route to take at high speeds whilst the Hunt Master leads you on. This is an exhilarating experience and can open the eyes of any countryside rider. It is also great training for improving cross country discipline and developing good riding skills. The rules and clothing are the same as those of real hunting. The dogs have been excluded, as there is no fox to chase, only a fake tail attached to the jacket of a good rider. The official dates for hunting in 2002 are: 2nd March Other hunting dates can be arranged on request for groups of 12 riders maximum. La Casella is also happy to host riders and horses from other riding centers and can supply a box at no extra cost. All this allows you to spend a holiday where you can do anything, or nothing at all whilst immersed in the quietness of the countryside and woods that surround you. The Clubhouse is the heart of La Casella: a comfortable place that is open from 830am to 1pm. This is where breakfast is served and is considered one of the favorite places by our guests. We have an old billiard table, cards, board games and guitars available and in the winter our fireplace is always lit. All this along with a fully stocked bar makes this a great place for socializing and relaxing. The nearest Golf Field is in Perugina, at 70 km from the Hotel.
