Located close to the city center and 20 few minutes of quaint drive to the Ranthambhore National Park. Two kilometers away from the railway station. The highlight of taking a trip to Sawai Madhopur is a visit to the Ranthambhore National Park. The National Park encompasses nearly 400 square kilometers of dry deciduous forests. The park derives its name from the fortress of Ranthambhore and is one of the premium habitats in the world for the tiger. Ranthambhore has a remarkably rich and diverse flora and fauna, which includes 300 varieties of trees, 50 aquatic plants, and more than 100 species of herbs, grasses, and climbers. It as well has 272 species of birds and about 30 species of mammals, which includes Nilgai, Indian Gazelle, Indian Wild Boar, Leopard, and Sambar. The park is closed from July to September every year due to monsoons. The Sawai Madhopur Lodge, spread over 12 acres, was built in the early 1930*s near Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II of Jaipur for his hunting trips to the jungle of Ranthambhore, which were the favourite hunting grounds of the royal family of Jaipur. The former hunting lodge has an art deco main block with various amenities for leisure, recreation, and entertainment.
