The Winds Inn and Suites is located close to several boat and kayak rental companies. The closest is approximately 2 miles away. The Winds has numerous free, onsite activities for children and The Museum of Coastal Carolina (2 miles) offers a fantastic childrens program for a nominal fee. The Winds is located on the coast of North Carolina - known as the graveyard of the Atlantic-for it's hundreds of ship wrecks. Diving excursions are offered by nearby companies. Snorkeling equipment can be purchased nearby. Surf Fishing is available right on the beach in front of The Winds. There is a Fishing Pier a short walk from The Winds. Deep Sea fishing is available from a number of nearby companies on the island and nearby areas. The Town of Ocean Isle operates two free tennis courts for guest and residents of the island.
