Out there on a limb..not a bit of it!. The Aussies have some very clued up internet travel providers.You can go anywhere, do just about anything, from the sites listed below.

Sydney International Travel Centre - The folks at The Sydney International Travel Centre speak very highly of themselves, "Sydney International Travel Centre is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in all forms of travel service and management, to be achieved through professionalism, commitment and integrity". We would not disagree with them, this is the way all travel sites ought to be, as close to a full ten out of ten as you can go. Everything about the site says quality. But don't take my or their word for it, dive in now and check out one of the best travel sites on the internet.

Telstra Big Pond - A nice, "busy" looking site, but not confusing or difficult to navigate. Packed with content including online booking for flights, car rental and holiday packages. Booking services only available to Australian residents.

Harvey World Travel - A well designed site with all the content easily accessable from the front page. Has some good deals in holiday packages particularly to Asian destinations.

STA Travel Australia & NZ - The perceived purpose of a student targeted travel site would I imagine promote inexpensive travel, otherwise why restrict your market to one of the poorer markets. STA, despite their global coverage, appear to ignore this concept. We found many fares much cheaper on general travel sites using the same airlines and schedules, some by as much as A$400 on a A$1200 fare. Their online travel magazine Nomad has little useful information and appears only to be an excuse to promote the print version. The Travel Lounge travel tips and message board however is excellent and has lots of useful information posted by travellers from all over the world. This is a "must try harder" site.

Flight Centre - Fast and efficient sums up The Flight Centre. They scored 100% on the 12 searches we performed. Prices are very competetive for a wide range of air fares and holiday packages.

Lastminute.net - We couldn't describe the site any better than Lastminute.net, so here they are. Jetset - Jetset specialise in holiday destinations from cities all over Australia. Check out the destination of the month and the adventure of the month sections for some good deals.

Netlink Travel - Sydney based company offering a full service travel agency. Notable features include some pretty amazing deals on long haul flights. Lots of other useful travel info on the site too.

Saints Travel Centre - Small NSW travel agent with some big deals. Specialises in long haul holiday packages to exotic destinations worldwide. Online secure credit card booking service available.

Qantas Airways - Qantas Airways, Australia's national carrier. All you need to know on this great looking site. Arrivals and departures, frequent flyer programs and special deals.
